In 2017, I spent 6 months in isolation with leukaemia. During this time, writing songs and poems made my time in isolation meaningful, and in doing so made it manageable. After leaving hospital, I wrote Dear Lady Death, a one-man show based on this material. I performed it in January 2019 at The Station, Bristol, and have since performed it at the Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer Conference, and Camp Bestival.
